The Hanukkah story is almost unknown among most Christians. And yet, Hanukkah is historically the best documented of all the Biblical Feasts. It is described in the Apocryphal books of 1 and 2 Macanese, but is also referred to in a number of places in both the Tenach (OT) and the Apostolic Writings (NT). Read more
PREPARE THE WAY: A NEW JUBILEE YEAR PRAYER INITIATIVE FOR ISRAEL FROM JERUSALEM!
“Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.’ So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.’” (Ez 37:9-11)
This month during the counting of the Omer leading up to Pentecost and coinciding with the 50th Jubilee of the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967, we are launching a new prayer initiative for Israel from our new HaDerech Prayer and Study Center in the heart of Jerusalem: We are launching monthly intercessory prayer gatherings for Israel in the nations around the world called “Prepare the Way!”
The purpose for these intercessory prayer gatherings is twofold:
- To pray for the restoration of Israel according to the prophetic Word in the Scriptures.
- To pray for the full restoration of the congregation of Messiah in the nations, the church, as described in the book of Revelation.
Every month we will supply these intercessory prayer gatherings with an introductory video from Jerusalem presenting specific prayer targets for that month.
Contact us right away if you want to be part of this new prayer initiative “Prepare the Way!” from our HaDerech Center in Jerusalem and we will send this month’s video to you so that you can begin to pray with us already during this Jubilee month! Write to info@larsenarson.com
Please note that the monthly introductory video will only be available to those who register a group with us to join “Prepare the Way!”
We are specifically encouraging pastors and leaders to join “Prepare the Way!” by starting a monthly prayer meeting for Israel in their church or a citywide prayer meeting together with other churches in their city or area. But a group joining “Prepare the Way!” can also be as small as just two or three intercessors meeting once a month in a home.
Register your group to get our first monthly “Prepare the Way!” video by clicking here!
We ask all of you to stand with us to pray for the blessing and success of this new prayer initiative that God will use it in a mighty way to prepare the way for Messiah by making ready a people prepared for him!
Pray For A New Outpouring Of The Holy Spirit Over Jerusalem
”And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29)
We are right now in the midst of counting the Omer, counting the 50 days from Resurrection and leading up to the Day of Pentecost as it says in the Torah,
“You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord.” (Le 23:15-16)
It was on the 50th day, the Day of Pentecost that the Spirit of God was poured out on the disciples in Jerusalem in Acts 2, just as Messiah had prophesied, “for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Ac 1:5)
What happened on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2 was a fulfillment of the promise in Joel, “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy.” (Ac 2:17) The promise in Joel is preceded by a call to intense prayer and fasting. It says in Joel 2:17,
“Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”
The disciples likewise prepared themselves for the glorious outpouring of the Holy Spirit during the 50 days of the counting of the Omer. Luke wrote, “And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father. …All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer.” (Ac 1:4, 14)
What happened on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2 was only a beginning of the fulfillment of the promise in Joel. God has promised to once again pour out his Spirit on Jerusalem in the end times. Zechariah wrote,
“I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.” (Zec 12:9-10)
It is from the womb of intense prayer and intercession in the congregation of Messiah in the nations that the Holy Spirit will once again be poured out on Jerusalem and bring the nation to a new birth, just as Ezekiel prophesied,
“Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.’ So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.’” (Ez 37:9-11)

“he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.” (Lk 1:17)
• Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit over Jerusalem this year in connection with the 50th Jubilee of the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967!
“I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.”(Zec 12:9-10)

“And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” (Ez 36:27)
“You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.” (Ac 21:20)
• Pray for a breakthrough of Jewish freedom to pray on the Temple Mount, which is Mount Zion, during this Jubilee Year!

“And a Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the LORD.” (Isa 59:20)
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We bless you from the house of the LORD.” (Ps 118:26)
God bless you as watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem!
PRAYER ALERT: CELEBRATING THE RESURRECTION FOR FIFTY DAYS!
”May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.” (Ps 67:1-2)
What a joy it is to celebrate the Feasts of the LORD, especially on location in Jerusalem where it all happened and will happen! This year’s Passover celebration has been no different.
For seven days we have eaten unleavened bread, reminding us of what Messiah did for us when he “abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”. (2 Ti 1:10) Read more
Pesach: Celebrate Passover
“For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival.” (1 Cor 5:7-8)
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Messiah, a lamb without blemish or defect.” (1 Pe 1:18-19)
The Biblical Feasts reveal the Father’s detailed plan of salvation for mankind through the Messiah, from his death on Golgotha as the Lamb of God to his enthronement in Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords. The Feasts are of utmost importance for all who love him and will one day sit with him on his throne as his glorious Bride.
Passover is the first of the Feasts of the LORD and the foundation upon which all the rest are built. From the beginning the Apostolic community of believers faithfully celebrated the death, burial and resurrection of Messiah every year at Passover on the 14th in the first month on the Biblical calendar just like Yeshua did with his disciples and like the Jewish people still do today. When Was Messiah Born?
Most scholars agree that Yeshua was born somewhere around the time of the Feasts of the Lord in the fall. One way to reach this conclusion is through the story in Luke 1 concerning the birth of John the Baptist. From 1 Chronicles 24, it is possible to know when John the Baptist’s father Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah, was serving in the Temple. We also know that six months later the angel Gabriel visited Mary (her real Hebrew name is Miriam) and she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. This information brings us to the seventh month on the Jewish calendar as the time of the birth of Yeshua. Read more
Tips How to Celebrate Hanukkah
Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is a wonderful holiday of renewed dedication, faith, and hope. It’s a holiday pointing to the Messiah, who is the light of the world.
Hanukkah commemorates the victory, through the miracles of God, of a small band of Jews over the pagan Syrian-Greek empire who ruled over Israel around two thousand years ago. Psalm119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” The evil Syrian ruler Antiouchus Epiphanes tried to wipe out faith in the Word of God. He failed and this is what we still celebrate today. Read more
Why Every Christian Needs to Study the Torah
The Law is called the Torah in Hebrew. The word “Torah” does not mean law in the modern sense. Rather, it means “instruction” and “teaching.” Every week Lars Enarson gives out a commentary on the weekly Scripture portion from the Torah. In one year you get a thorough foundation in the very part of the Bible that many Christians know so little about, yet which makes up the foundation for all Scriptural revelation. “The LORD spoke to Moses and said” is the most common phrase in the Bible!
